Water Shortage in Khuzestan and Killing the Protestors by Iran Regime

Khuzestan is the southwesternmost province in Iran. This province which I am from, was famous for having the most and longest rivers inside and the richest soil for agriculture. However, today after passing of 42 years of dictatorship by Islamic Republic in Iran, this province is facing the shortages of water. Most of the cities in this province including Soosangerd, Khoramshahr, Shadegan and Ahwaz (my home town) does not have access to any water let alone being sanitary water or for their animals or plants.

 Majority of people in Khuzestan breed Water Buffalos. As the implies, these breeds would not survive without running water which is found in rivers. But as a result of mismanagement due to years of regime killings, boycotting, jailing and executing the experts and environmentalists, the longest rivers in Khuzestan province now have no to little water and there is a water crisis in most of the cities there.

 Now, when citizens of southern cities of Khuzestan are protesting for the simplest matter in everyones life, water, the islamic regime is attacking them, killing them, shutting down the internet in order to supress them. Regime is sending heavy guards to southern cities of Khuzestan.

It is time for international media in order to be the voice of thirsty people. Echo their protests, be their voice, be the power of powerless.

Stand aginst the Islamic regime in Iran.
